The Ocean Rose

 

History

The Ocean Rose is a 36 foot downeast Wayne Beal fishing boat built in 1993 at the Wayne Beal Boatshop in Jonesport, Maine. Originally built as an open stern lobster boat, she has a flat bottom and a deep vertical keel. This hull shape makes for higher speeds, less rocking, a softer ride and greater stability. In 2006, she was moved to Point Judith, Rhode Island. At that time, the deckhouse was extended and fully enclosed, a full galley was added and she operated as an offshore tuna boat through 2014.

 

The Ocean Rose Today

Captain Dave Geller has owned the Ocean Rose since 2014. Her current configuration includes:

 

• 500 HP Yanmar 6CXM engine

• 6 kw Isuzu/Norpro generator

• Full electronics including GPS, fishfinder, radar

• Viking Liferaft/ACR EPIRB 

• Fully air conditioned

• Full galley with microwave

• Full size head with shower

• Twin bunks
